Stripmap Production

  1. Log onto blackjack.
  2. Open project D:\Mannin\stripmaps2000\2001\stripmap2001.apr
  3. Select stripmaps to be printed – multiple selections are allowed.
    1. Use select tool to click on the stripextents01.shp shapefile, once it is made visible, or
    2. Use the query button to select stripmaps with [Label] = "STRIPNAME"
  4. Make sure all themes are checked visible.
  5. Click the Stripmap Print button.
  6. Select output type from the pull-down menu.
    1. Postscript New (EPS) creates a postscript file with the stripmap name for each selected stripmap.
    2. Raster Transfer Language creates a postscript file with the stripmap name and an .rtl file called <stripmap>_rtl
    3. Paper Maps print hardcopy maps for each stripmap. No electronic version is stored.
    4. Both (.rtl and Paper) creates a postscript file and an .rtl file and prints a hardcopy.
  7. Set Printer Settings – print on Frog, size 36" x 60", landscape
